Get to know KAID

At KAID, we believe Irish dance is about far more than learning steps. While dancers develop timing, technique, flexibility, rhythm, strength, and stage presence, they also learn lasting lessons that extend well beyond the dance floor. Irish dance teaches discipline, confidence, perseverance, and the pride that comes from consistent effort and growth.

KAID is a close‑knit community that truly feels like family. Every dancer is supported, encouraged, and challenged at each stage of their journey—whether they dance for fun, performance, competition, or personal growth.

Our Philisophy

It is our belief that dance is about the life lessons it imparts.

Through Irish dance, our dancers learn the value of teamwork, dedication, realistic goal‑setting, leadership, and friendship. They learn how to commit to a process, manage challenges, celebrate progress, and support one another.

It is in this environment that dancers develop the confidence, discipline, and passion that will carry them through life—both on and off the stage. These qualities stay with them long after a performance ends and help shape who they are, not just as dancers, but as individuals.

Training

KAID offers traditional and contemporary Irish dance training for dancers ages 2 and up. Our structured programs support all levels, from beginner through championship, with a strong emphasis on:

  • Proper technique and movement quality

  • Strength, flexibility, and coordination

  • Musicality, timing, and rhythm

  • Confidence and performance presence

Training takes place in a disciplined yet encouraging environment, where dancers are challenged to improve while feeling supported and motivated. Progress is thoughtful and individualized, allowing each dancer to grow at a pace that promotes long‑term development and enjoyment.

Performance

Performance is an important and rewarding part of the KAID experience. Throughout the year, KAID dancers share Irish dance with the community through appearances at:

Community events and festivals, cultural celebrations, schools, nursing homes and senior living communities, weddings, local pubs, and private events.

Each St. Patrick’s Day season includes about 30 performances across the region, providing dancers with frequent opportunities to perform, build confidence, and represent Irish culture with pride.

Competition

KAID dancers compete at regional, national, and international levels, progressing through competitive pathways with a focus on preparation, consistency, and long‑term growth.

Competition training at KAID builds confidence, resilience, discipline, and stage presence. Dancers are thoughtfully guided based on readiness, goals, and personal development.

In addition to solo competition, KAID dancers have the opportunity to participate in céilí team dancing, an important part of Irish dance tradition that emphasizes teamwork and precision. KAID céilí teams have earned Top 5 placements at the Southern Region Oireachtas, reflecting strong preparation and commitment.

Achivements

KAID is proud to be home to World and National medal holders and qualifiers, as well as dancers recognized for excellence in both competitive and community settings.

Notable highlights include:

  • First‑place $10,000 prize at the 2015 Broward County 100 WE Duende: Passion and Rhythm of the People showcase

  • Third place in the Fort Lauderdale St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2024 & 2026

These accomplishments reflect years of dedication, teamwork, and commitment from dancers, families, and instructors.

Our Approach

At KAID, success is defined by effort, consistency, and growth. We challenge dancers not to be perfect, but to give a perfect effort—learning from each experience and taking pride in progress.

Whether a dancer’s path leads to performance, competition, or lifelong enjoyment of Irish dance, KAID provides a structured, supportive environment where dancers can grow with confidence and purpose.
